Alfie let you tour night off, and this night would be your night. Even though, you decided to go to the Hendrix to see how it is as a client. It wasn't a bad decision, on the contrary, your colleague or your boss could serve you a drink. You thought it was a good idea. So, without hesitation, you walked the street of Bowen to grab a drink at the Hendrix.
When you arrives there, ou find some familiar client. You discussed with them, you laughed with them too. It was a pleasure to be there as a customer than a barman but you also like your job here. So, you go at the counter, you asked your colleague for a glass a rhum with ice. You let a tip to your friend and you start drinking your glass. When you surrounded the bar, you saw a little ginger head who seemed to be a little bit lost in this place. So, you decided to come over see her. You take a sit on her right with your glass, and started to talk.

Just a coke in this wonderful place ? Take a cocktail ! You’ll see, there are marvelous, told you to this pretty lady. I’m sorry if I disturb you, my name is Alek, you continued with a smile.

Talking to girls when you worked but also when you were here just for a drink and have a good night was your passion. You hope you don’t scare her with your aise to talk to people.

You were sitting there, in the place you used to work in, as a customer for the first time. When you surrounded the place, you thought that Alfie made a really good job in this bar. So, with all you charms, you come to see her and begin to talk to her. You take a sip of your rhum and you talk to her about the wonderful cocktails we can found here. When she told you it was a good idea to take one of them, a big smile shows up on your face.

Without alcohol ? Yes, of course, I could even do it for you ! you said with your big smile. Nice to meet you, Ivy.

Without delay, you were in front of her in the barman place. You take the opportunity of saying hello to your colleague and offer a big smile to the young and pretty lady in front of you. With ll the juice and sirup you can have here, you began to make the greatest cocktail you could do for her. She asked you if you come here often, and after that, you laugh a little.

Hmmm... Too much often... I work here, so all days and all nights ! But I never see you around, or am I wrong ? Hmmm, impossible, I would have noticed a pretty girl like you, you said with a wink at her.

Your colleagues and friends laughed when you give her cocktail to Ivy. As a response, you slap them on the shoulder. This was your way to answer to it. People were dancing, chatting, laughing. That's what you really like in your job, see people having fun and make them having fun. When she tasted your cocktail, she found good, better than her first drink. So, you were proud of you. One of your creation liked by someone, it's something for a barman. You smiled at her and take a sip of your drink.

You were always like that with girls. It's in your nature after all, well that's what your friends said about you. But you really don't care. She was cute, and friendly so you don't care. But you might scared her if you continue to drink as usual so you take your time with our drink. She said that you can go with other people because she seemed to be boring. But you wasn't agree with that.

Oh no, I like talking to you. And you're not boring at all, no one is boring you know. I refuse to let you say that ! I'm actually having fun, talking to a pretty girl and making cocktail for her, you said with a wink. So, you know what I'm doing in my life. Now your turn, you said with a smile.

Laughing with your age, something you like to do. She told you that you might be eighteen or maybe twenty-one. And that's the age people give to you, but twenty-one is the age of your little sister that's why you have a little smile on your face. You look maybe young but you don't care, it's fun sometimes even if sometimes it's unbearable.

Hmmm, wrooong ! I'm older than that, I'm twenty-three ! Unbelievable, right ? you said, laughing.

You offer her the drink you prepare, she was happy, you see it with her smile. And to add, you tell her you're going to call this the Ivy cocktail, she find that funny. Also, she said she promotes it around the town. Even if it's a joke, you think that was great. She asks you how you can drink something like your glass of rhum with ice. Something you like a lot !

I don't know, the taste maybe. Even if it's alcohol, all of them have a different taste, you responded to her. Maybe it's becoming an habit, so now, I drink everything every time...  

You finished your drink, and take an other one. The same. Here, in this bar, you're like home so you take another spiced rhum, less than the first one with a cube of ice. You didn't want to scare her with your alcohol problem, when you drink your seem to be another person and you don't want to that happen tonight.

I'm coming to have a good moment, and I'm having it right now ! you tell to the ginger lady. A shelter ? Oh nice ! I'll think about it if I want to take a dog, you said with a laugh. Have you always live in Bowen, or in Australia ? you continue to ask to better know her.

She doesn't believe you when you tell her you were twenty-three, with your innocent face of a baby. You laugh when she asked you how is it to live with a innocent face like you have.

Not so complicated after all, even if people think I'm a baby still a school, you added with a smile.

Ivy actually finish her drink and you were happy she liked it. With all your barman's skills you made it for her but it wasn't so complicated after all. She talk to you about your drinks, your alcohol inside your glass. You take a sip, and continue to listen to her. She was right, you drink to forget something, or maybe it's in your gene to drink like that. Like father, like son, right ?

I drink to forget, I guess, you responded and raise your shoulders. Forget life, forget problems, forget everything and have a good time. Maybe it's for that, you continue with a sad voice.

All drinks reminds you your father. But you only drink the same thing, usually, rhum. Your father was a terrible alcoholic who drinks everything. A lot, every day, without a glass of water. You're not at this point yet, and you won't be, you hoped. Finish to talk about alcohol, you wanted to know her so asked her questions about her life. She's really pretty and you wanted to know her better.

You grab her hand and walk her outside of the bar, there was a little terrace. There was a quiet place, at the end of the garden, with a bench. You sit together here and continue talking.

You don't want to see other thing than here ? I mean, travelling, discovering other countries and so on ? you asked her politely.

Finally, you were together outside on this bench to continue your discussion you had inside. She was so sweet and it was so easy to talk to her than you continue, you gave personals details that you never thought you told to someone. So, you continue to talk, to say how hard was you life, at least you tried without giving more informations. You didn't want to scare her with all the problems you could have in your life.

It's the hardest part, but I don't mind, I just think that with it I could have forgotten my past, my problems, you said a bit quietly.

It's hard for you to talk about your father, your hell when you were in London without your mother. Even if people could see your scars on your body and ask you about it, it was always difficult. Talking about Alana was easier, because she's the sweetest of the Canterburry family. And you love to say that you're a proud brother.

I came here 3 years ago now, and yes I still have my British accent but girls say that it's one of the sexiest, you laughed. I enjoy the city, and mostly, the people here ! It's another atmosphere than London, but I think Bowen is great and I want to stay here the most I can.

I understand, leaving my little sister was the hardest part of my travel, but now she's with me after 3 years without seeing her, you said with a smile. It's difficult, you have to find a job, your own home. The first month was the hardest but also the greatest because I met people, I tried jobs, and so on. It's a magical experiment to live.
